Tianzhong Yang is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Biostatistics and Health Data Science at the University of Minnesota, where her research centers on statistical genetics and genetic epidemiology. She works closely with the Division of Pediatric Epidemiology and Clinical Research and is a member of the Biostatistics Core at the Masonic Cancer Center, providing statistical support to a wide-range of cancer-related research.
Her interests span both methods development and applied science — She is interested in developing innovative statistical methods to address important scientific questions and is enthusiastic about collaborative, team-based science.
Before joining the Minnesota faculty, she was a postdoctoral associate with Professor Wei Pan at the University of Minnesota, and earlier worked with Professor Peng Wei at the University of Texas Health Science Center and MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she completed her PhD in Biostatistics.
